WHY RGIPT?

Pedagogy

The style of instruction will be based on recent research material and experience gathered from around the world in the Petroleum & Energy Sector. The pedagogy would thus highly be interactive envisaging substantial participation and action learning. Teaching methods include lecturers, cases, seminars, group discussions, business games, role plays, simulation, exercises, structured and unstructured group work and field visits. The emphasis is on involving each participant to make learning participant-centric. This will help them relate the concepts, ideas and theories easily. Consistent with recent advances in training technology, the program integrates the use of computers with learning in different functional areas.

Information Resource Centre & Computer Centre

The Institute proposes to have a well-endowed print and non-print Information Resource Centre and a Central Computational Facility with campus-wide Local Area Network and uplink facilities, an e-library and an e-learning platform.

Group Activities

It is proposed to assign substantial study work, exercises etc. to students to be carried out in small groups. This will provide immense opportunity to them to learn the nuances of team-working as well as to learn from each other’s experience. The group learning activities can be broadly classified into two:

  • Group assignments involving presentations and case analysis
  • Group task-assignments involving learning by doing

Industry Visit & Summer Placement

Opportunity will be provided to acquire the first hand experience of the best practices in Petroleum & Energy Sector through industry visits to promoting companies and other industries.

Summer Placements shall be organised at leading companies and the students will vastly enrich themselves during such work oriented assignments.
